our dinner at bouchon las vegas

i am all about anthony bourdain. so when i was kicking and screaming when i heard i had to go to las vegas, i thought i could find respite in one of his recommended restaurants.

our dinner in bouchon...

well, it did not go as well as i thought. the onion soup had unmelted slices of gruyer, the goat cheese salad was wilted with only one dollop of chevre, my mussels were a bit on the fishy side and many were closed, and the espresso was not monumental. i do however recommend the braised pork with pork belly sausage. also, the warm bread and warm pistachios served before the meal were a nice touch.

after the vegas trip, i came away with a smashing painting. i incorporated Bouchon's brown sugar wrapper and a book of their matches. nobody would ever know the dinner was a B.
