drinks at the stratosphere

i was kicking and screaming when i got the word that we were going to vegas. then, when i got the word we had to go to the stratosphere i became an untamed banshee. well.... my, my it was quite a lovely surprise. clean smooth bar with a delightful staff. the view? unbelievable. it was incredibly majestic.

we had a pina colada, irish cream coffee, and a kioki (kaluah and brandy - also the waitresses favorite). they were perfect.

one night stand halloween costume to make yourself

this one night stand halloween costume is perfect for those parties over 18. i took left over foam core, a bunch of "household" items, a trashy outfit (why is it that the naughty catholic school comes out on halloween?), and some packing tape to make this killer one night stand outfit.

i would love if you made this costume yourself. here are the complete instructions in pdf form. If your browser is a bit slow, click on the image files below.

make this fabulous costume, serve wine out of plastic cups, and win that halloween prize. please do not forget to send me pictures.

love and kisses. oh, and boo.

nokia center dining

michael took me to see the dixie chicks and the eagles. we headed straight down to the new nokia center and decided to dine there.

we had a frozen margarita and roast beef sandwiches which came with a dill pickle and potato chips. the roast beef sandwich bun was of the smart and final variety... thick with a long shelf life. also, there was not enough meat for the amount of bread.the frozen margarita was slush. i need to remember to only get those at the dodger stadium.

the chips were lay's classic. the pickle was yummy and a nich touch.

it was their opening night so i was a bit worried when our cashier became our meat carver.

room for improvement:
1. cocktails and drinks line only
2. more meat less bun
3. different bun
4. snack items should be able to be bought with food items
5. steal the margarita mix from dodger stadium

kudos:
1. friendly staff
2. great pickle
3. good meat

dixie chicks at the nokia center

michael took me for a night on the town. here are the dixie chicks even though they were still not ready to make nice. please forgive me, they were the warm up band.

eagles concert at the nokia center

here are the eagles taking it easy... so you ask, how is the nokia center in downtown los angeles? it was a gorgeous state of the art center for very small people. the accoustics were incredible and the views were really clear. however, the seats were smaller than those found on coach and the leg room was equally poor. i was wearing linen and the hard plastic arm rests would tear at my skirt. this was their opening night.

our dinner at bouchon las vegas

i am all about anthony bourdain. so when i was kicking and screaming when i heard i had to go to las vegas, i thought i could find respite in one of his recommended restaurants.

our dinner in bouchon...

well, it did not go as well as i thought. the onion soup had unmelted slices of gruyer, the goat cheese salad was wilted with only one dollop of chevre, my mussels were a bit on the fishy side and many were closed, and the espresso was not monumental. i do however recommend the braised pork with pork belly sausage. also, the warm bread and warm pistachios served before the meal were a nice touch.

after the vegas trip, i came away with a smashing painting. i incorporated Bouchon's brown sugar wrapper and a book of their matches. nobody would ever know the dinner was a B.
